Welcome to The Thicket!
Hiya— I’m Leigh! What started as a pop-up shop based out of my basement in 2022 is now a deceptively-packed lil’ brick-and-mortar shop tucked away on the 2nd floor of an old brick mill building here in my adopted home, Worcester, Massachusetts. Much like a real thicket in the woods, I hope to provide customers with a cozy, safe space to let their guards down, be real with themselves and find clothing that actually works for them.
We show up for our bigger bodied community by providing a comfortable, accessible place for fat folks to find clothes that help them feel their best. Affirming clothes shopping is something everyone deserves, so we offer an in-person, in-store shopping experience for the full range of clothing needs: under garments to graduation dresses, basic tops & bottoms, work-wear, athleticwear and outerwear…plus, shoes, bags & accessories, gifts, stickers & what else?! Trinkets and tchotchkes, baby!
If all the clothes and tchotchkes weren’t enough, we also host events regularly, including a monthly craft night, quarterly clothing swaps and an annual pop-up market & mega-swap! Point is, we want everyone to experience both a pleasant, stress-free shopping experience and fat community! Keep tabs on all of this & follow along behind-the-scenes with the shop on Instagram; we post up-to-the-minute updates (ie: schedule changes, story sales, special events) so our community can stay in our loop & join in on the fun.
